Summary. You can play Backgammon without creating an account or giving us your name, email, or contact details. Your game progress and settings are stored only on your device and are not sent to us. The App shows advertisements through Google AdMob, which processes device and advertising identifiers to serve and measure ads. Where the law requires it (for example in the EEA, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland), you are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown, and you can change or withdraw that consent at any time.
This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the App on Android and iOS, why it is processed, the legal bases we rely on, who receives it, and the rights you have. It is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the UK GDPR, and it also addresses the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA) and applicable Apple and Google requirements. Please read it carefully. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the App.
The controller responsible for the processing described in this policy is:
BTA Mobile Apps

For advertising, Google (Google Ireland Limited for users in the EEA/UK/Switzerland, and Google LLC elsewhere) acts as an independent controller and/or processor of the advertising data it collects through its AdMob SDK, as described in Section 4. We are not able to access, and we do not receive, the identifiers or ad-interaction data that Google processes.
The App stores the following locally, in the App’s private storage on your device. This information is not transmitted to us and we cannot access it:
You can erase local statistics at any time from Settings → Statistics → Reset. Removing or uninstalling the App deletes all locally stored data.
We do not operate our own servers that store your personal data, we do not run our own analytics or tracking, and we do not collect names, emails, contacts, precise location, photos, or account information.
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Internet / network access | Required to load advertisements and the consent form from Google. |
| Notifications (optional) | To show local reminder notifications you can enable. Denying it does not affect gameplay. |
Advertising ID (Android AD_ID) | Used by Google AdMob to serve and measure ads (see Section 4). You can reset or limit it in your device settings. |
| App Tracking Transparency (iOS) | iOS asks your permission before any tracking identifier (IDFA) is used for personalized advertising (see Section 5). |
| Vibration | Optional haptic feedback during play. |
The App uses Google AdMob to display banner, interstitial (full-screen), and app-open advertisements. To serve, cap, and measure ads and to prevent fraud, Google and its advertising partners may collect and process:
This processing is carried out by Google, not by us, and is governed by Google’s own terms. For details, see Google’s Privacy Policy, how Google uses information from apps that use its services, and the AdMob data disclosures.
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we and Google rely on the following legal bases under Article 6(1):
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, the App uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to present a consent form the first time it is required. Your choice determines whether you see personalized or non-personalized ads.
On iOS, before any cross-app tracking identifier (IDFA) is used for personalized advertising, the App requests your permission through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. If you decline, the App continues to work and shows non-personalized ads. You can change this choice in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
With your permission, the App can schedule local reminder notifications on your device (for example, inviting you back to an unfinished match). These are generated entirely on your device; no notification content or schedule is sent to us or to any third party. You can disable them at any time in your device’s system settings.
Because we do not hold personal data about you on our own servers, most requests concerning locally stored data are satisfied by using the in-App reset or by uninstalling the App. In addition, subject to the conditions in the GDPR/UK GDPR, you have the right to:
To exercise rights over data processed by Google through AdMob, you can also use your device’s ad settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising / Tracking) and Google’s own privacy controls. To make a request to us, contact btamobileapps@gmail.com. We will respond within the time limits required by applicable law (generally within one month under the GDPR).
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority. In the EEA, this is the authority of the country where you live or work; in the UK it is the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
The only third party that receives data through the App is Google, for advertising and consent management. Google may process data on servers located outside your country, including in the United States. Where data is transferred out of the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, such transfers are carried out under appropriate safeguards recognized by law, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and/or an applicable adequacy decision (including the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, where relevant). See Google’s policies for details.
Data stored on your device remains until you reset the statistics or uninstall the App. Advertising data handled by Google is retained according to Google’s own retention practices, described in Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not separately retain personal data on our own servers.
The App is a general-audience board game and is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that higher age applies, such as parts of the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Advertising is configured to request age-appropriate content. If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has provided information through the App or its advertising, please contact us at btamobileapps@gmail.com and we will work with our advertising partner to address it.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not sell your personal information for money. The use of advertising identifiers for personalized/targeted advertising may be considered “sharing” or a “sale” under California law; you can opt out by declining consent/tracking as described in Sections 6 and 7 and by using your device’s ad settings. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
Local data is kept in the App’s private, sandboxed storage on your device and is protected by the operating system’s app-isolation model. Communication with Google’s advertising services uses encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we and Google take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data.
We may update this Privacy Policy as the App evolves or as laws change. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the latest revision, and material changes will be reflected in an updated version number. Your continued use of the App after an update takes effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
